Information and Policies

Jump Start aims to help its student's personal growth in a positive and rewarding manner. Our coaches are trained and USAG Safety certified. We maintain a student-to-coach ratio of 6:1, 7:1, 8:1, or 10:1, depending on age, class, practice, or camp.

Our Goal: To make fitness fun and enjoyable while creating young leaders and role models.

We ask that the gym's policies are followed to make this a valuable & safe learning experience for all gymnasts.

Student Drop-off & Pick-up: All students, regardless of age, must be escorted to and from the building by a parent/legal-aged guardian. The parking lot can be a busy and, thus, a potentially hazardous place for unaccompanied students. Students may be dropped off no earlier than 10 minutes before the start of class and must be picked up no more than 10 minutes after the class ends. A $10 child watch fee will be assessed for each additional 10 minutes a child is early or late.

Class Registration: All new students/parents must complete a New Student Registration/Waiver form before the first class. Class fees are due at the time of registration. Pro-ration of class fees is limited to the start date of initial enrollment and may not be combined with any other discounts. We accept checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

Class Fees & Refunds: A $25 late fee will be applied to unpaid balances after the first week of classes. A $50 fee is applied to returned checks. Refunds are issued on a case-to-case basis. Missed classes within a current session are not refundable or transferable to another session. To inquire about refunds, please do so in person, by phone, or by email.

Make-up Classes: Make-up classes are permitted on a space-available basis to maintain our instructor/student ratio. They must be scheduled in advance through the office and completed within the same session. Students must be enrolled at the time of the make-up class.  JSG reserves the right to limit makeup class options due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Health & Safety Issues: It is highly recommended that students receive a full physical before enrolling. Parents are responsible for informing staff of any limitations identified by the physician or other conditions that may impair the student. Should a student have a communicable illness, infection, or lice, we ask that you observe the necessary precautions before returning to class.

Cell Phone Usage: Neither students nor parents can use cell phones for photography or videos in the gym equipment area.

Girl's Attire: Leotards are strongly recommended. Hair must be tied back. Jewelry is limited to stud earrings. Baggy clothing and pants with rivets or zippers are not permitted.

Boy's Attire: T-shirts, warmup pants, and/or shorts are recommended. Baggy clothing and pants with rivets or zippers are not permitted.

Emergency Closings/Cancelled Classes: In the case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary to cancel classes. Jump Start will notify parents and students of any closings via email. Please be sure that Jump Start has an updated, frequently checked email on file.
